Kwai-Pheng Agnes Ho was born and grew up in Kampar, Perak, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, SAR, China. She met her husband, Siu-Cheong John Ho, in high school, and they married in 1974 after John graduated from University of Tennessee. After their marriage, they lived in Tennessee while John finished his doctorate degree, and where their first daughter was born. Later they moved to East Lansing, Michigan, for John’s job, and where their second daughter was born. In 2013, the two of them moved to St. Louis to be closer to their daughter, Beverly’s family, while their other daughter, Ashley, lived abroad.
Kwai-Pheng Agnes was a beloved mother, friend and sister. She will always be remembered for her energetic, positive and joyful spirit, her artistic creativity and beautiful sewing skills, her faith, and her love for her family and friends. She loved the outdoors, gardening, and sharing her love of nature with her children and grandchildren. She became a Christian soon after she moved to Michigan, and shared her gifts of giving and hospitality to those around her. She was often found serving and caring for the international students at the university and later, the elderly in the Chinese community; all were made to feel welcome in her home and part of her family.
Kwai-Pheng was preceded in death by her father, Wong Chew, and beloved mother, Tham Soo Mooi. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in Jesus’ eternal peace
